The new service

We are taking responsibility for ensuring that a modern, simplified supply and delivery service is in place for all community pharmacies, dispensing doctors and hospitals, to help us ensure that our medicines are delivered to those who need them, when they need them.

We are now delivering our medicines directly to community pharmacy, dispensing doctor and hospital customers in the UK through two agency partners AAH and UniChem.

This means we now supply our medicines directly to customers with the support of our agency partners, instead of supplying them indirectly through the wholesaling system.

Through our new service, we have a direct commercial relationship with our customers for the first time. Our agency partners are working with us to supply and deliver AstraZeneca medicines according to the agency agreements that we have in place with them.

This new, more direct relationship, for the first time, allows us to have a direct channel of communication and to better understand the needs of our customers.  It is also allowing us to implement patient support services for pharmacists to help them work with patients to ensure they get the best from their mediciations.

Our new supply chain will deliver our medicines to patients in a more direct way. By working with our agency partners, we will create a responsive and efficient nationwide supply and delivery service.
